There's little that's more  special than seeing an innocent baby animal enter the world. And while we think all animals have qualities that set them apart, sometimes a truly extraordinary baby catches our eye. That's why we were instantly smitten when we heard about a chestnut foal recently born at Flying Hall Riding School at Robin Hood's Bay, North Yorkshire in England.

One quick glance at this adorable young horse is all you need to see that he has quite the spectacular markings. Running from his mane, then down his shoulder and neck, is a white shadow that looks exactly like another horse that has hitched a ride on his back. While it isn't unusual for chestnut mares to have irregular patches, it's certainly unique for the pattern to resemble something as recognizable as the horse itself. This foal actually has a white heart-shaped spot on his bottom as well.

His owners were so blown away by his markings that they decided to name him "Da Vinci," or Vinny for short. This way, he will forever be known for the beautiful work of art he brought into the world.

According to Wendy Bulmer, an instructor at Flying Hall, Da Vinci has also provided the riding school with their first opportunity to expose its children to a newborn foal from his day of birth. They love to play with Da Vinci, which in turn has made him very friendly and social.
